Marvel Comics gets new Spider-Man to replace Peter Parker

Marvel Comics gets new Spider-Man to replace Peter Parker

Geez, it’s just not an easy time to be Spider-Man. First, Broadway announces the (temporary?) closing of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Now, Marvel seems to have had their fill of Peter Parker as the lead character all together! Starting with Ultimate Spider-Man issue 160, someone new will be wearing the Spider-Man costume. In fact, someone new will be wearing something new, as the whole Spidey suit gets an update. The sleek black and red design was just recently revealed, ready to put into practice this summer after issue 159’s “Death of Spider-Man” storyline. Yeesh! So who is the new wall crawler, web-slinger, man behind the mask? It’s a mystery, so far. As is the future of the classic Spidey, Peter Parker.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars season four on Cartoon Network

Star Wars: The Clone Wars season four on Cartoon Network

Maybe it started a long, long time ago, but it really only feels like three years! The truth is, Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been one of Cartoon Network’s biggest hits over the past few seasons; so much so that the CN is proudly bringing the Lucas teams back for yet another season – the show’s fourth. What will be in store for The Clone Wars season four? Well, we got a glimpse of that a few weeks back, but here’s what we’re hoping for: more Chewbacca, more looks into the life and family of Darth Maul and Savage Opress, and maybe just a tease of some Han Solo! Maybe as some sorta rebellious baby. Oooh, and maybe my own Lightsaber. Anyone else?

Sonic the Hedgehog 20th anniversary

Sonic the Hedgehog 20th anniversary

It was way back in 1991 when Sega first premiered Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis. From that moment on, Sonic became the company’s most iconic mascot, knocking Alex Kidd from the title, and never looking back. From his first appearance as a dashboard toy in Rad Mobile, to his Sonic X animated series, battling with Dr. Eggman and Dr. Robotnik, meeting up with Tails and Knuckles, through Sega CD and Dreamcast, the Sonic Storybook series, and more — Sonic has been a blue blur of excitement for over 20 years. It’s no wonder Sega is making big strides for the Hedgehog’s 20th anniversary. Sonic Generations will help get this point across in a big way, as gamers can play through new and classic episodes as Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic. Will you guys be celebrating his big day at your house?

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark turns dark

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark turns dark

Maybe it was the Green Goblin. Maybe it was due to the dozens of accidents. Heck, maybe the cast is just afraid of being devoured whole by partially untrained dragons. The true answers may never surface, but the fact remains: Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is closing. At least for now. During this past weekend’s show, the cast took a final bow as curtains closed, letting producers, including U2’s Bono and The Edge, and a new creative team have some time to overhaul and fix the show. Everyone involved hopes to have previews ready to go May 12th, with a relaunch on June 14th at the Foxwoods Theater. Technically, the show has still never opened, airing only previews since November of 2010. Maybe one day, Peter Parker. Maybe one day.

Universal's Hop rocks from April 1st through Easter Day

On April 1st, Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment brought Hop to theaters. The live-action and CG hybrid film tells the story of E.B., a teenage rabbit who leaves his home on Easter Island to pursue his dream of becoming a drummer in Hollywood, rather than take over his father’s role as the Easter Bunny. Once in California, E.B. meets Fred O’Hare, who brings his new rabbit friend home. But just as the two think they can’t handle any more, they’re both faced to grow up, doing what they can to save Easter from a evil Easter Chick named Carlos. Now, the Easter Bunny’s big day is finally here, with the Easter Holiday! And with the film still going strong in theaters, it’s likely we could see a nice …jump… in the box office before the weekend is out!
