Kung Fu Panda 2 chops low for DreamWorks

Kung Fu Panda 2 chops low for DreamWorks

It’s tough to imagine that earning $50 million dollars in a three day span (or $65 million in a 5 day span) could somehow be viewed as a bummer. But, that’s the box offices films face today, where Kung Fu Panda 2 did just that. The sequel to DreamWorks Animations 2008 juggernaut had a mighty first effort, but not strong enough to tackle another sequel, The Hangover Part II. Frankly, we think the CG and 3D film did well, even if it is currently being outpaced by the original. As long as it gave us something to laugh at, and something to look forward to in the upcoming Nickelodeon series, we were happy. What about you guys, did you get a chance to hit the theaters this week? How did you fit in the box office breakdown?

Disney begins to tease info for Pixar’s Brave

Disney begins to tease info for Pixar's Brave

Back in 2008, Pixar announced 3 new movie projects: Cars 2, Newt, and Brave. Although Newt never had it’s moment, Pixar fans were on the edge of their seat waiting for more info on Brave; Pixar’s first fairytale and nothing their past movies. Finally, we can start discussing the details, which follow a story set in the mystical Scottish Highlands. Mérida is the unruly princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus and Queen Elinor, who inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom when she defies a sacred custom. To set things right, she is granted one wish from an eccentric Wise Woman – I guess she never saw The Little Mermaid. Best of all, a single image still from the film was released on a French Disney fan page – an awesome sneak peak of what is to come! Check it out right here

Rebooting the Flintstones: Do or Don’t?

Rebooting the Flintstones: Do or Don't?

Hello fellow Earthpolluters! So I guess a lot of you have heard about the fact that Mr. Seth Macfarlane is going to reboot the Flintstones. When I heard this, I was SO excited, reliving memories of the Hanna-Barbera version. Then I thought about it for a bit longer, and I started to wonder: “is he going to put his Family Guy / American Dad / Cleveland Show humor into the Flintstones?” Scary, right? I mean the Flintstones have a different sort of humor when compared to the toons Mr. Macfarlane has created. So how big will the difference be? Will he able to maintain that original Flintstones feeling in the new series?

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

Magix hits Nickelodeon with Winx Club

So, we just recently started to get some official bits of news about the Winx Club heading over to Nickelodeon. For years, we’ve been without our favorite fairies, and years before that, they were on the various 4Kids programming, like CW4Kids, 4KidsTV, and even the FoxBox. Now, Nickelodeon plans to give the girls (Bloom, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Flora, and Aisha) all sorts of Magix. Just as many of you head out of school for summer, Nick is sending the girls to Alfea College, where each can train to become the best fairy they can be. Will the Trix get in the way? I guess that’s just the risk (rix?) we’ll have to take. As long as it means more Winx Club on TV!!
