The new channel will allow fans to access all of their favorite Aniplex of America titles in one convenient place, free of charge. The channel employs an intuitive user interface that serves as a portal to high-quality streaming videos powered by HULU. Disney/ABC Television Group Digital Media’s extremely popular Fish Hooks App for iOS devices has just released a new update featuring crisper and clearer high definition graphics, as well as an expansion pack that includes five additional characters to play with, such as Randy Cunningham, Finberly, Shellsea, Bleak Molly and Jumbo Shrimp.

The new Fish Hooks app also has six new game mechanics and several new power ups, such as the Octopus, which can use his tentacles to swing around a level and Warps, which can be used to transport oneself throughout a level.

New Rocky & Bullwinkle Comics to be Published by IDW

San Diego-based publishing outfit IDW Publishing is already known for successfully adapting popular TV and movie franchises into comic book form, with best selling titles based on small screen juggernauts like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and Doctor Who. Over the past weekend, word got out that IDW is preparing to add yet another recognizable TV franchise into their library of comic book titles, this time it’s Jay Ward’s beloved comedic duo Rocky and Bullwinkle.

The new Rocky & Bullwinkle title from IDW will feature all of the show’s regular characters, including the spies from Pottsylvania, Badenov and Natasha Fatal, as well as Dudley Do-Right and his time-traveling dog companion Mr. Peabody, both of which are going to have their own CG-animated feature via DreamWorks and director Rob Minkoff.

Over the week, Disney/Marvel’s Iron Man 3 managed to break The Avengers’ record in Europe during its first week. The third installment in the Iron Man movie franchise managed to bring in over $195.2 million from 42 markets, beating 2012’s The Avengers, which had a $185.1 million opening week. In comparison, Iron Man 2 had a $100 million international opening in 2010.

Michael Bay has been the subject of online hatred for the past few months, after the initial announcement that he will be rebooting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie franchise, followed by rumors that he will be changing the origin from “turtles mutated by radioactive chemicals” into “alien turtles from outer space.” However, Bay himself has recently decided to address the rumors, and defended himself by clarifying that he wasn’t going to stray away from the source material after all:

New Trailer for Monsters University Released

Animation giant Pixar has once again released a new trailer for the upcoming prequel to Monsters, Inc., Monsters University, which will follow the college days of series protagonists Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan (John Goodman), where they were initially the odd couple dormmates.

While Monsters University will introduce younger versions of established characters, it will also feature a host of new characters, particularly those belonging to the school’s teaching faculty. The main villain for the prequel seems to be the Dragon-y Dean Hardscrabble, who is voiced by Helen Mirren.

800 North and Ice House Partner for Dino D-Day

Brown Bag’s LA-based animation label IceHouse and game developer 800 North have recently teamed up along with Metalocalypse creator Tommy Blacha, in order to produce a new animated series based on the indie videogame Dino D-Day. The series will be exec produced by Blacha with help from Icehouse’s Gregory R. Little and 800 North’s Abe Scheuermann.

The Dino D-Day series will use Valve’s SFM software in order to bring to create the series and a new version of the videogame side-by side. . Little brought the property to Icehouse based on his experience as producer of Deep, the previously announced animated feature film that also uses Valve’s SFM software.

Seth Rogen and FX Network Team Up for BigFoot Cartoon

Deadline.com is reporting that FX Network and actor/comedian Seth Rogen are currently working on a new animated series based on Graham Roumieu’s series of books about the life and adventures of the mythical Bigfoot creature.

Roumieu’s Bigfoot books are mock autobiographies that focuses on a bipolar hopeless romantic Bigfoot who has trouble expressing himself in a social situation, which leads to the poor creature not being able to connect with anyone from Pine Falls, where he and a number of humans and animals peacefully coexist.

Gomera Wreaks Havoc on Youtube

Production outfit IDA, Inc., which recently came out with the full 3D CG war-action rabbit animation ‘Cat Shit One,’ has just unleashed a localized version of their monstrous new creation upon the denizens of Youtube, titled Kaiju Gomera.

Kaiju Gomera is a unique comedy mini series that has already seen localizations and broadcasted all over the world via Youtube and Youku. It focuses on a gigantic monster (a kaiju) whose massive destructive capabilities can only be matched by his intense desire to be cuddly and friendly. As expected, the difference in his genetic makeup and his character results in a massive conflict that brings any city he visits to its knees.

The Kaiju Gomera videos showcase a hybrid of live-action, 2D, and CG animation wrapped up in a witty storyline that will be appreciated by viewers, whether they are old fans of the kaiju genre of movies or little kids who weren’t even born yet when the last Godzilla movie premiered on the big screens.

Award-winning animation studio Aardman Animations has recently produced a four minute short film titled The Loney Dodo, which aims to shine a light on the plight of endangered species all over the world. The short will be used by the international conservation charity, Durell.

The Lonely Dodo focuses on the Dodo Bird’s extinction, shown from the perspective of the very last dodo on earth, who aims to communicate the plight of other endangered species from around the world. The short follows the lone dodo traveling across the globe in a hopeless quest to look for another one of his kind.

Shaun the Sheep Movie Scheduled for 2015

Bristol-based animation studio Aardman has recently announced a partnership with StudioCanal, which will see the launch of a new Shaun the Sheep movie in Spring of 2015. The feature will be animated using Aardman’s trademark stop-motion technique, and will be written and directed by Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit) and Richard Starzak. StudioCanal is financing and will distribute the film in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

The new Shaun the Sheep movie finds Shaun’s mischief finally causing the Farmer to leave the farm. It is then up to Shaun, Bitzer, and the rest of the flock to go on a dangerous trip to the big city in order to bring him back.
