Subway Surfers to Get its Own Cartoon Series

If you think Angry Birds is the only mobile game that is worthy of being translated into animated form, think again: Ink has recently announced that a new animated TV series based on the hit endless runner app Subway Surfers.

In a way, the new Subway Surfers Cartoon series is just a way for the brand to go full circle, as the app was based on an award-winning short animated film created by SyBo founders Bodie Jahn-Mulliner and Sylvester Rishøj in 2009.

The app itself was only released in June last year, but has already garnered over 300 million downloads to date, with players being addicted to the premise of a character who has to jump through trains, obstacles, avoid policemen, ride hoverboards and jetpacks, all the while collecting coins and various powerups.

The upcoming Subway Surfers animated series will be a European/Canadian co-production and will consist of 26 x 13 minute episodes, which will star the game’s cast of quirky characters and build on core themes such as travel and exploration, as well as channeling the fun and vitality that has made the app such an enormous success.

Is Brian Returning to Family Guy?

Is Brian Returning to Family Guy?

By now, everybody already knows about the death of the Griffins’ pet, Brian, in Family Guy. He was ran over by a car, and was only able to regain enough energy at the vet in order to thank the Griffins for giving him a good life. It was one of the saddest scenes in the series, and it looks like the death was permanent as the Griffins found another dog named Vinny (voiced by The Sopranos’ Tony Sirico) as his replacement.

However, some signs picked up by various news outlets hint that Brian may be coming back. For instance, Deadline.com has pointed out that Sirico has only been hired to appear in six episodes. This is followed by Gawker.com noting that the titles of two future episodes will have Brian’s name on them – “Brian’s a Bad Father,” and “Brian the Closer.”
