VIDEO: Candy Crush Soda Saga Live-Action/CG Spot

It’s easy to imagine a live-action spot for games like Call of Duty or even Final Fantasy. The scenarios are exaggerated and the costumes would require work to reproduce in real life, but you’re mostly still working with human characters. But how do you do a live action spot for Candy Crush: Soda Saga and still have it look exciting? It’s not like you can just scatter a bunch of candies and chocolates on a table and leave it at that.

Traktor and MPC shows you how. In the new live-action/CG hybrid spot for the downloadable game, we see a woman turn the city into Candy Crush: Soda Saga and play the gigantic game with her fingertips. In case you have trouble wrapping your mind around the description, you can watch the spot yourself:

Nintendo of Japan to Cease Production of Original 3DS XL Models

Nintendo of Japan has recently announced via their official website that the original 3DS XL, regardless of color and model, will soon be discontinued. The announcement is odd considering that a range of colors for the original 3DS will continue to be produced and sold.

The possible reason for the 3DS XL being discontinued is a push for the new Nintendo 3DS and 3DS LL, which has been released in Japan last October. The newer models a re required to use Amiibo figures in game, so it makes sense to push them over the older models.

10 Minute Gundam Breaker 2 Gameplay Video

Bandai Namco Games has just posted a new gameplay video for the Gunpla-themed 3rd person action game Gundam Breaker 2, which is only a few days away from its Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita debut. The new promotional video features characters Takehito Koysu and Romi Park of Turn A Gundam providing an overview of the game features.

What makes this even better is that the video clocks in at a hefty 10 minutes, which should be enough time to highlight some of the key features of the game, such as the in-depth customization options for the mobile suits (allowing gamers the freedom to mix and match weapons, parts, coloring, and even add several mods.)

Nova Will Not Appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2

With the appearance of the Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy, fans of Nova got excited at the possibility of Richard Rider eventually appearing in the sequel, particularly because the movie already introduced Rhomman Dey, the man who will eventually recruit Rider into the corps. However, Marvel chief Kevin Feige has recently clarified that Nova will not be appearing in the sequel. Note that Feige’s words does not completely rule out Nova appearing in the big screen, just that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 isn’t the right time to introduce the character.

Is it Berenstein or Berenstain?

Quick, try to remember if it was Berenstein Bears or Berenstain Bears. No cheating, don’t look at any books or images yet. If you’re one of the many who remember it as Berenstein, go ahead and do a google image search. Try to find a single book cover or image that spells it as “-stein.” Chances are you’re not going to find any. Every single image you have will have spell it as Berenstain, after the writers’ surname.

The fine folks at Godlike Productions happened upon this phenomenon. It seems like there are a lot of people who remember the Berenstein spelling, although not a single one has found proof that it was ever spelled that way and not Berenstain. Even fellow toonbarn contributor Neil once made a post where he spelled it as Stein, even though the quoted message on the post spells it as Stain.
