Adventure Time: In Your Footsteps Review
This new episode starts off with Finn skydiving with Jake on his back. Who knows how they got high enough in the air to skydive in the first place, but that is beside the point. Finn uses Jake as a parachute, and they land softly on the ground.
They land in a field, where they greet Princess Bubblegum, and all the Candy People. They start dancing and partying, until they build up a sweat, and have to take a break. While they are sitting at a picnic table, Finn goes off to get snackity juice, and a bear comes up from out of the forest and sits at the end of the table with Jake.
Jake tries to start up a conversation, but doesn’t get anywhere. Finn comes back with peanuts and punch. As Finn starts eating peanuts, the bear wants some too. Finn gives them to the bear, and he immediately starts to choke on them. Finn gets behind the bear, takes out his Enchiridion book and smacks it against the bear’s back. All of the peanuts come flying out of the bear’s mouth. Everybody then continues dancing. After the party, when Finn and Jake are walking home in the dark, the Bear follows them. They let him come home with them, as they go back to the Tree Fort.
Once they get home, Jake starts listening to his music on a Walkman, and Finn tries to teach the bear all kinds of things to do and say, because the bear imitates him. Finn calls Jake over, so Jake tries to get the bear to imitate him sweeping the floor. The bear hits Jake, repeating Finn by saying, “Sweeping weak”. Finn and Beemo think the bear is funny. Jake doesn’t like this and says they should go to bed and the bear should go home. Instead, Finn lets the bear sleep the night at the Tree Fort, in the bathtub.
In the middle of the night, Jake hears something, so he goes to investigate. The bear is dressed up in Finn’s clothes, imitating Finn’s actions and speech. He keeps dancing and saying, “Hey Princess Bubblegum. Hey everybody”. Jake thinks this is bad, so he wakes up Finn, and tells him what the bear is doing, and takes him to see it for himself. When they get there, the bear is asleep. Finn tells Jake he believes that the bear was doing what Jake said he was, but he’s really not bothered by it. So, they go back to bed.
In the morning, everyone is eating cereal for breakfast, and the bear is doing and saying exactly the same things that Finn is saying and doing. Jake thinks it is really messed up, but Finn still doesn’t mind. Finn says he has to go pick up Beemo from Soccer, so as he is leaving, he tells Jake not to eat the Finn Cakes.
As soon as Finn leaves, the bear goes and eats all the Finn Cakes. Since Jake thinks the bear is trying to frame Jake for doing it, he catches the bear on videotape, eating all the Finn Cakes. When Finn and Beemo get back, Finn gets angry at Jake for eating all the Finn Cakes. Jake explains to him that it was the bear, and he caught him doing it on tape. Finn asks him why he didn’t try to stop the bear from eating the cakes instead. Jake gets angry at Finn for not inviting him to Finn’s party. Finn asks, “What party?” Jake shows him the flyer for the party. Finn tells him he didn’t make a flyer for a party. Then, they both realize it was the bear.
Finn and Jake then go into the forest and see the bear, disguised as Finn, partying with PB and the Candy People. Finn tells Jake that PB and Finn never went steady when Jake tells Finn that the bear is stealing his ex-girlfriend. Jake then convinces Finn that the bear never really liked Finn, but that the bear just used him. Finn rips the bear’s mask off and tells him that the jig is up. The bear runs away, crying. After Princess Bubblegum explains that nobody actually thought the bear was Finn, Finn runs after the bear and apologizes. Finn gives the bear the Enchiridion book and tells him that after he reads it, he can become a true hero.
The bear climbs up a mountain and goes into a cave. The Snail then asks if the bear brought the book, and the bear presents it to the Snail, who is still possessed by The Lich. The Lich says, “YES, ONE…STEP…CLOSER.”
