Five Short Graybles review
“Five Short Graybles” is the second episode of season four of Adventure Time. In the beginning of the episode, there is a world globe seen in the right hand side of the story teller. It looks like the world, but the part of the world is torn apart. Could this be a clue to the Mushroom War? Anyway, the story teller tells us there are five stories woven into one, where they all share a theme. Did you guess the theme? At the end, the storyteller tells us the theme was about the five senses and how they are shown. By the way, Emo Phillips puts in a guest appearance as the voice of the storyteller.
First, Jake and Finn act like they are going out, but really they just want to see what Beemo does when he’s alone. Beemo goes to the bathroom, looks at himself in the mirror (the sight sense!), and talks to the reflection, he calls Fupo. Beemo acts like he uses soap and pees on the toilet to amuse Fupo. Jake and Finn are actually watching this all from the outside window.
Finn gets out a list, and checks off the first item. Finn’s list reads, “Prove that Beemo does weird junk when nobody is around, Cut fingernail, Punching seminar: 6 PM, Haiku, and Find missing thermos.”
As they mark off the list, Jake and Finn High-Five (the touch sense!), then, step back farther, and High-Five again. Then, it becomes a “how-can-we-make-this-the-most-perfect-high-five-ever-contest”. Eventually, Jake gets in a slingshot, and Finn gets in a catapult, and they release themselves toward each other… and then the story changes to the Bubblegum Princess.
Bubblegum Princess puts a cow in a large centifuge, so she can quickly make cheese. Then she uses other weird methods to make lettuce, tomato, and bread. This is the makings of the perfect sandwich. For some reason, the perfect sandwich only has cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bread – no meat. What would your perfect sandwich have in it? She gives this to Cinnamon Bun to taste (the taste sense!), and he gulps it down without tasting it, then burps the chunks of sandwich through his hole, all over her.
The Ice King walks in on Gunther, who is minding his own business, and thinks that Gunther smells bad, so he sends him floating off on a ice raft. The Ice King comes back and realizes the smell (the smell sense!) is actually himself. So, he gets washed up, and after he discards the other penguins he used to wash with, sees that Gunther is back. He tells Gunther it was actually himself that smelled bad, and wonders how his underarm ever got smelling so bad. With that, he puts Gunther under his arm and Gunther farts into his underarm.
The Lumpy Space Princess (LSP) is competing in a talent show, and is practicing the song, “These Lumps”. LSP watches as the act that is on before her is singing (the hearing sense!) the same song, and everyone in the audience loves it. Then, when LSP gets up, and starts singing the same song, they call her a “RIP-OFF!”. LSP gets mad, and throws basketballs at the audience, which every time they hit someone, they bounce off and make a basket in the basketball net. They all think this is very talented, and make her the winner…
That is… until Finn and Jake come flying together, and do the Most Awesome High-Five Ever Seen! They declare Jake and Finn the winners of the Talent Show.
