Turner’s Cartoonito set to launch across Europe

Turner's Cartoonito set to launch across Europe

Cartoonito. Like, a little cartoon. Who is a guy? I don’t know, my Spanish isn’t that great. All I know is, it means there will be more toons, and more fun, coming our way. In September, Turner Broadcasting will launch the new channel across Europe, Africa, and sections of the Middle East. In the meantime, Cartoonito will debut as a programming block on Cartoon Network, sort of like Adult Swim. Filling the package is a number of toons, like Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Krypto the Super Dog, Hello Kitty and more. New guys will also join the fun including Southern Star Entertainment’s CG animated Bananas in Pyjamas. Jelly Jamm, a new 3D toon, will also make a big splash on the block, which itself will feature a number of home grown characters, such as: Lolly, Bubble, Cuba, Spike, Ting, and Ringo.

Hulk SMASHES in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Superheroes, Volume 1 & 2 DVD

So, we know the Hulk is all super badass and everything, and clearly could put a major hurt on any one of us in the ToonBarn Studios. But, that said… I mean, doesn’t that sorta look sweet up there? Like they’re justa buncha old friends, maybe dancing away a song they used to rock out to in high school? Are we putting a little bit too much thought into this adventure? All right, all right, I digress. On April 26th, you’ll be able to answer these questions, and more, for yourself, as Marvel and Disney team to release The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Superheroes, Volume 1 & 2 on DVD. And if it’s more Hulk stuff you want, check out this clip of the green guy in action! …not dancing action!

Pokemon: Black & White: A Home for Dwebble on Cartoon Network

Pokemon: Black & White: A Home for Dwebble on Cartoon Network

In this week’s episode of Cartoon Network’s Pokemon: Black & White, A Home for Dwebble, Ash and his pals having a simple lunch. That’s when they spot a Dwebble making himself a home in a rock. Nickelodeon prepares Robot and Monster: Best Friends Forever

Nickelodeon prepares Robot and Monster: Best Friends Forever

We love Robots. We love Monsters. It only stands to reason that ToonBarn Studios would be a huge fan of a series called Robot & Monster – it’s like simple algebra. Thus, we were delighted to see that Nickelodeon is adding just such a toon to their roster! Set in a unique world where gangs of Howling Cyber Monkeys roam the streets, the world of Robot & Monster is, quite literally, filled with Robots and Monsters. Most don’t get along – that is, except for the titular characters. Robot is a self-proclaimed genius inventor, and Monster believes goo things happen to good people, believing loyally in everything Robot does. And with a best friend like that, what else could you ask for? …Except for, maybe, a pile of bacon.

Pokemon Black and White captures sales for Nintendo DS

Pokemon Black and White captures sales for Nintendo DS

Pokemon has been around for a long time now – we’re at over 10 years, and counting. Thus, it’s perfectly reasonable to think that, just maybe, the franchise and phenomena just aren’t as popular as they used to be. Sure, you can think that if you want. But you’d be wrong. How do we know? Well, not only are the ratings for Cartoon Network’s Pokemon: Black & White series sky high, but the recently-released Nintendo DS video games are selling through the roof — already to the tune of over 2 million games sold in the U.S. (over 1 million copies in the first 24 hours) since launching two weeks ago. That’s in addition to the 5 million copies of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White that have sold in Japan. In addition to the games ToonBarn gaveaway a few weeks back, it seems like Nintendo is doing quite alright with Pokemon!

Behr introduces Ribert and Robert’s Wonderworld

Behr introduces Ribert and Robert's Wonderworld

The quest for knowledge never ends for Ribert, which is something that most of us can relate to. Something that most of us can’t relate to is the fact that Ribert is an animated toad! Behr Entertainment is bringing Ribert & Robert’s Wonderworld to MIP TV, hoping to catch the world by storm with the live-action and animated hybrid show. The series revolves around Ribert and Robert, his human friend, as they learn about different topics in Wonderland, a magical island amusement park. With roller coasters, Ferris Wheels and more, this is the first show a kid can ride!

First look at Adrianne Palicki in Wonder Woman costume

First look at Adrianne Palicki in Wonder Woman costume

Adrianne Palicki is walking tall as Diana Prince, Amazonian Princess of Themyscira. In other words, Wonder Woman! The actress formerly known for her role on Friday Night Lights will be filling the star-spangled outfit in the upcoming Wonder Woman reboot. The DC Comics heroine was portrayed last by Lynda Carter, who donned the classic getup in the 1970s series. This time around, David E. Kelley, Bill D’Elia, and Jeffrey Reiner hope to set a new direction based on the success with Superman that WB has had with Smallville. So what do you think of your first look at Adrianne Palicki as the new Wonder Woman?

Cartoon Network Bereft of Young Justice?

Cartoon Network Bereft of Young Justice?

Nope, Young Justice is still on the air! “Bereft” just happens to be the title of the latest episode, set to hit Cartoon Network on Friday, March 11th, at 7pm. Geez, what’s the deal, CN? The last few episodes are titled Downtime, Denial, Infiltrator, and now Bereft? What’s the next episode called, “Canceled?” Maybe, “Go Away”? Whatever the case, the toon is awesome, and we love it. If it were up to us, we’d call each episode “Awesome”, “Epic”, “A really, really nice cartoon with feelings”, etc. Warner Bros. has yet to accept any of our Friend Requests to get this done, so we’ll assume they’re happy with their current process. In any event, take a look at this teaser clip from Friday’s episode.
