New Nick.Com Game: Legend of Korra Book 2: Dark Into Light

This week, Nick.com has released a brand new browser-based action game based on the Legend of Korra series, titled Legend of Korra Book 2: Dark Into Light, which is based on upcoming episodes from the new season of the top rating animated action series.

In Legend of Korra Book 2: Dark Into Light, the player is thrust into the role of the upstart Avatar and tasks her with ridding the land of various dark spirits and enemies, via dozens of sidescrolling action levels with rich animations, impressive effects and parallax scenes that will keep gamers on their toes.

Legend of Korra Book 2: Dark Into Light is surprisingly well made and has enough depth to be mistaken for a console game. Aside from the high-resolution visuals, the game also provides responsive controls that use the Arrow or WASD keys (the so-called FPS keys) to move around, while attacks are bound to the left mouse button. As for attacks, Korra claims to have control of all four elements, and the game proves this by giving her context sensitive attacks that correspond to air, water, fire, and earth, depending on how far she is to the target or whether it’s required in the situation. The game also lets fans earn collectible tokens, upgrades, and power-ups as missions are completed.

Mobile fans don’t need to feel left behind, as Nick.com has also released an HTML5-based version of the game over at their mobile games hub, m.nick.com/games as well as their Emmy-award winning mobile Nick App. The mobile version and the desktop version both have a special feature where you can answer all five trivia questions per episode on the mobile app, which can net you a special code that will unlock secret missions for the game on Nick.com.

Legend of Korra season two premieres this Friday at 7 p.m. / 6 p.m. (ET/CT) on Nickelodeon. Visit Nick.com/korra to access more games, photos and episodes from the series.
