New Zealand’s Pocket Protectors Wins Gold in ToonOlympics!

Pocket Protectors 2012 ToonOlympics Champion

The 2012 ToonBarn ToonOlympics are Officially Complete! After 23 Matches for 24 Cartoons from 18 Countries around the globe, here are the Final Medal Standings in the ToonOlympics on ToonBarn:

Gold Medal: Pocket Protectors (NEW ZEALAND)
Silver Medal: The Legend of Korra (USA)
Bronze Medal: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (USA)

Congratulations to Pocket Protectors and the Country of New Zealand! New Zealand is now home to the Best Cartoon in the World, as voted by the readers of ToonBarn. New Zealand’s Prime Minister should give the guys from Mukpuddy Animation a parade in the streets of Auckland, showering them in confetti, streamers, and of course…pocket protectors. As you read from our interview with Mukpuddy in the Semi-Finals, Alex Leighton, Tim Evans and Ryan Cooper will be working on another season of Pocket Protectors, similar in format to the first season. Look out for more episodes in 2013 on Mukpuddy’s Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/mukpuddy

However, the ToonOlympics are not “Officially Officially” over until ToonBarn Harry has given our winners their Medals and the Closing Ceremonies are finished. So, without any more pomp and circumstance, here is ToonBarn Harry and our winning cartoons:

We hope you enjoyed the ToonOlympics on ToonBarn. We look forward to the next ToonOlympics, 4 Years from now. If you have any thoughts about the ToonOlympics, what you liked, what you didn’t like, or what we can do to make them better in the future, let us know in the comments below. We always love hearing from our readers.

Marc Morrell

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
