For those of you who want a little bit of anime in their western superheroes, Marvel has recently announced that they are creating a new television anime series titled Marvel Future Avengers. The new series will be carried by satellite broadcast channel Dlife and will be scheduled for premiere this summer. The target audience for the series will be the predominantly male demographic.
Marvel Future Avengers is described as the story of a young boy protagonist, Makoto, who gains superpowers due to an evil gene manipulation experiment. Makoto and other young individuals with powers will join the Avengers as their apprentices under the name “Future Avengers.” The series will revolve around the members of Future Avengers training and fighting alongside veteran Avengers Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Wasp.
Aside from the TV anime series, a manga version of Marvel Future Avengers will be created with Teruaki Mizuno serving as the artist. The manga version will debut in Shogakukan’s Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics Special magazine’s April issue, which is scheduled to ship on Tuesday.
