Batman Ninja New York Premiere Interviews; Blu-ray/DVD Released Today!

Batman Ninja is a worldwide phenomenon for Batman, DC Comics, and Japanese Anime fans alike! And today, it has officially been released on Blu-ray™ Steelbook, Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD with both the Original Japanese Version with subtitles AND the English-dubbed version for your viewing pleasure. And what a pleasure! It’s quite a feast for the eyes, and the action, drama, and storytelling will take you away to a place you’ve never been before, but the characters are so familiar in every way. While you are watching it, every time you think the filmmakers could not outdo themselves, they step it up another notch and blow you away. The visuals are breathtaking and the creators of the film have honored the DC Comics Batman villains and heroes in such an amazing way that you’ll wish every DC Comics character could get their very own Japanese Anime film. Yeah… it’s THAT good!

To get you even more excited for today’s Blu-ray/DVD release of Batman Ninja, ToonBarn’s Marc Morrell was on the red carpet for the East Coast premiere of Batman Ninja at the Director’s Guild of America in New York City on May 1, 2018, and he interviewed several cast and crew from the English-dubbed version of the film. Those interviewed include the Japanese filmmakers, Jumpei Mizuzaki (Director), Kazuki Nakashima (Screenwriter), and Takashi Okazaki (Character Designer), as well as Tony Hale (The Joker), Tara Strong (Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy), Roger Craig Smith (Batman), and Grey Griffin (Catwoman).

After the screening of the film, audience members were treated to a Q & A Panel with the cast and crew of Batman Ninja, moderated by Gary Miereanu, and 5 lucky people went home with signed Batman Ninja cardboard posters. It was an amazing night and one very few who attended this special Batman Ninja East Coast Premiere will ever forget! The next day, May 2nd, there was a Q&A and signing at Kinokuniya Bookstore.

Batman Ninja takes a journey across the ages as Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine transports many of Batman’s worst enemies to feudal Japan – along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. As his traditional high-tech weaponry is exhausted almost immediately, Batman must rely on his intellect and his allies – including Catwoman and the extended Bat-family – to restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.

Batman Ninja, the all-new, feature-length animated film from Warner Bros. Japan, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, arrives TODAY (May 8) on Blu-ray™ Steelbook, Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD.

The film is also available on Digital, and will be available in 4K UHD for Digital only in a release planned for Summer 2018.

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
