Bruce Timm and Jim Krieg Red Carpet Interviews for Batman: Gotham by Gaslight Premiere


Bruce Timm (Executive Producer) and Jim Krieg (screenwriter) have teamed up before for Batman and Harley Quinn and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and we are certainly catching them in full stride as they work their magic for the first Elseworlds tale, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, which debuts on Digital today, January 23, 2018.

For this Elseworlds tale, Batman is in Gotham in the late 1800s, and he is trying to clean up Gotham, who the police think is a masked vigilante, while he tries to solve the murders of the supplanted British serial killer, Jack the Ripper. It’s a new film adapted from a graphic novel published in 1989, written by Brian Augustyn and Art by Mike Mignola, titled Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, which was released on Digital today (January 23, 2018) and will be released on Blu-ray/DVD on February 6, 2018.

ToonBarn Head Writer Marc Morrell was fortunate to attend the World Premiere of Batman: Gotham by Gaslight at Newseum in Washington DC, as a kickoff event for the DC in DC 2018 Celebration for DC Entertainment. Before the premiere showing of the film, which also included a Cocktail Party and Post-film Q & A panel with the cast and crew, Marc conducted a few Red Carpet Interviews, including the Executive Producer, Bruce Timm and the screenwriter, Jim Krieg.

We would like to thank Bruce Timm and Jim Krieg for their time on the red carpet in Washington DC. They pulled out all the stops to make this film special for DC Comics and Batman fans alike. We hope you are able to see Batman: Gotham by Gaslight to learn why Bruce and Jim thought there needed to be more suspects in this animated adaptation than there were in the original graphic novel, so the audience could really get caught up in the “whodunit” and they could stretch it out to 74 minutes.
