Warner Bros. has just announced that primetime TV stars Mark Valley (Human Target, Fringe) and Michael Emerson (Person of Interest, Lost) have joined the voice cast of the final installment of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie two-parter Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2. The feature is directed by Jay Oliva (Man of Steel, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights) from a screenplay written by Bob Goodman (Warehouse 13) and is slated to come out on January 29, 2013 on DVD, Blu-Ray Combo Pack + Ultraviolet, VOD, and Digital.
Emerson will be lending his voice to The Joker, while Valley will voice Superman, respectively. They will be joining an already impressive voice cast that includes Conan O’Brien (Dave Endochrine), Peter Weller (Batman/Bruce Wayne), David Selby (Commissioner Gordon), Ariel Winter (Robin/Carrie), Michael McKean (Dr. Wolper), Maria Canals-Barrera (Commissioner Yindel), Paget Brewster (Lana Lang) and Michael Jackson (Alfred).
The Dark Knight Returns, Pt. 2 sees Gotham once again under the protection of Batman, and a new Robin. However, the Dark Knight’s return has also awakened a far greater evil lurking in Arkham Asylum: The Joker. What’s worse, Superman has been asked by the President to put a stop to the Batman’s vigilantism, with the peace of Gotham being threatened by the collision of these two former friends and teammates.
