Kevin Conroy returns as Batman in Assault on Arkham

Kevin Conroy has been the definitive voice of Batman for the last 22 years.

That isn’t an opinion.

If you were to poll the Batman fandom and ask who’s voice you prefer to be Batman, it would show the majority favor Kevin Conroy. Even the actors who have played Batman in various animated series, films, and video games have spoken about how they were just keeping the microphone warm for Kevin Conroy, and showing the utmost respect for what Kevin has accomplished with this iconic character.

Andrea Romano, in ToonBarn interviews, has said that whenever a Batman project is started, where she is the Casting and Voice Director, she always asks the producers, “Can I cast Kevin Conroy as Batman?”.

So, I really don’t think there is any question as to why we were so excited when ToonBarn was given the opportunity to interview Kevin Conroy before the World Premiere of Batman: Assault on Arkham, at San Diego Comic-Con. No words can describe how much his interpretation of Batman has meant to literally millions of people over the years. That is why we think it is fitting to provide this video tribute to everyone’s favorite Batman, and can only hope that we can capture one tenth of the feeling we felt when we watched him describe his own feelings about playing Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Thank you, Kevin Conroy! Batman will live forever, thanks to you!

Batman: Assault on Arkham is being released on Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow, August 12. It is already available for download on Digital HD.

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
