Rocksteady Studios and Warner-Bros. tease Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Asylum revolutionized many things; stealth-based games, action games, the super hero genre, etc. It set a grand stage across the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, bringing DC Comics’ Dark Knight into one of the greatest games of this generation. So what does the planned sequel, Batman: Arkham City, have to do? Everything! Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are working with DC Comics, readying the next chapter for a release October 18th, 2011. In addition to bringing back all the Bat-tastic gameplay from the first title, the voice acting will once feature Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and the Joker – the same team that revolutionized Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited. …and for maybe the last time? Check out the trailer, and let us know if you think this should be what all games are like!

“This will be my last, there’s no question about that. But it’s the last hurrah. When they said, ‘We want you to come back [to the role of The Joker] and do ‘Arkham,” I said the same; ‘I left on a high note, I don’t think we could ever top that.’ But they said, ‘We got Paul Dini,’ who was my favorite ever Joker writer, ‘and Kevin Conroy,’ who I love. This was a real reunion and a very pleasant experience. So of course I relented, but I had no idea it would have the impact it did.” -Mark Hamill
