FOX-TV has recently renewed the adult animated comedy shows Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers. This marks the shows’ 18th and 10th seasons, respectively. The renewal of two of FOX-TV’s most successful animated content also preserves their Fox Sunday animation block. Viewers can rest easy knowing that they will have the same brand of humor and irreverent entertainment for the 2019 and 2020 season.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the renewal for Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers happened months ago without any fanfare. The decision was discreet and made well in advance to allow both shows to continue their production without any disruptions. It is also safe to assume that they wanted approvals to happen as fast as possible, ahead of fox’s $72 billion asset sale to Disney.
“If you’re an animator, there is no better place to showcase your work than Sunday nights on Fox,” said Fox TV chief Charlie Collier. “This is the network that set the standard for primetime animation. The Simpsons and Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers are the heavyweights of the genre, and we’re intent on finding the next generation of culture defining animated comedies to join them.”
