A decent part of tonight’s Looney Tunes Show episode will feature the transformation of Daffy Duck, from mildly annoying roommate to mildly annoying pretend detective. Bugs, on the other hand, is going through his own transformation. Never passing up an opportunity to spout “What’s up, Doc”, Bugs heads in to the doctor’s for a routine checkup when he discovers his caffeine intake is too high. Maybe there’s something wrong with 50 cups of coffee a day, who knows. Upon the doctor’s recommendation, Bugs tries to calm his caffeine rages a bit, hoping a switch to Yosemite Sam’s new energy drink, called Spargle, will do the job. Days of sleepliness later, and Bugs realizes he’s cleaned everything he owns and taken care of a year’s worth of chores in just a few hours. Maybe this isn’t the best substitution.
This latest episode of The Looney Tunes Show, called Off Duty Cop, really showcases what a great (mis)match Bugs and Daffy are as Warner Bros. roommates. Although Daffy goes a little nutty in his officer impersonation, he’s actually the “sane” one in this episode – the “good cop”, if you will. It’s Bugs and his caffeine rages that take the more traditional “Daffy” persona. Yosemite Sam and Porky Pig are just along for the ride, at this point – and it’s a great one!
But wait, there’s more!
Be sure to stick around for Cartoon Network’s presentation of the RoadRunner and Wile E. Coyote. In this week’s adventure, Wile E. scales a massive rocky crag to try to get to the Road Runner, only to find his meal isn’t exactly what he expects in the short “Butte E. Fall.”
