As fun as they are, Bugs, Daffy, and Porky just want a place to hang out that they can call their own. On this week’s The Looney Tunes Show, they’ll tell the story of how such a place came to be, revisiting the origin store of Pizzarriba! From the very beginning when Girardi’s, the local pizza joint, became available, all the way to the miracle that occurs when Speedy Gonzalez helps turn the place around. How does it all turn out? TOON in to Sunday Night Slice on Cartoon Network this Tuesday, September 13th, at 8pm – grab yourself a slice, and let’s find out! And be sure to stick around for the RoadRunner and Wile E. Coyote CG animated short, Go Fly a Coyote!
We can’t imagine anything more frightening than if we one day went to our favorite restaurant, let alone our favorite pizza place, only to find that it was closed. Oh, the horror and heartbreak!! For that reason, and really that reason only, we fully support Bugs, Porky, and Daffy’s decision to purchase Girardi’s. With Mr. Girardi now retired and on his way back to Italy, it’s the only logical course of action to keep the place open.
Now, especially knowing how beloved the place is to them, that should have registered with the folks that the spot was going to be important to every other customer, as well. Bugs, unfortunately, put up all the money by himself, and quickly realized that owning his own pizza spot was not only never his dream, it was quickly becoming his nightmare.
Bugs needs a miracle, and fast! Thankfully, both “miracle” and “fast” arrive in the same package with Speedy Gonzales. Thus, Pizzarriba is born, with Speedy’s fast and efficient service lining customers around the block to get a slice of their own. Sunday Night Slice quickly becomes Every Night Slice, and Speedy takes over full operation of the joint.
