CN’s Adventure Time with Finn and Jake Licensed to Asian Partners
Cartoon Network Enterprises has recently decided to expand its licensing efforts in the Asia Pacific region, and the most significant part of the expansion is the inclusion of popular animated properties such as Adventure Time with Finn and Jake, as well as The Amazing World of Gumball and Regular Show. The shows will join an already impressive portfolio that includes the Ben 10 and Powerpuff Girls franchises.
Cartoon Network is planning to use the new properties to further licensing and merchandising opportunities for its Asian partners, and the efforts will include consumer products, home entertainment, publishing, and promotional licensing. One of the stranger projects that have come out of the deal is the partnership with Korean language education company, YBM Sisa, to launch several Learning Tree preschool leadership playschools. There are already 3 of said themed centers already open in Asia, with plans for a dozen more to open across the region before 2012 ends.
