SPOILERS BELOW (highlight to reveal)
Van Kleiss has lost his controlling powers over Abysus at Rex’s hands… and now he wants revenge. His goal is to destroy Providence from the inside out and absorb all of Rex’s nanites to make himself stronger and more powerful than ever before. He succeeds in draining Rex of his nanites except the large, silver-colored, unusual nanite that Dr. Rylander had injected into him in “Dark Passage.” However, Rex’s nanites have an opposite effect on Van Kliess, as Rex was able to cure E.V.O’s, Van Kliess is able to create them, as done with Captain Callan. As a last resort to stop Van Kliess from destroying Providence, Rex intends refill himself with a new patch of nanites, which activate Rylander’s nanite and use its incomprehensibly strong and powerful abilities to stop him. The activation of the abnormally large strong and powerful nanite grants Rex new-and much stronger-powers and abilities to battle Van Kliess. Holiday takes down Skalamander with some help from her sister, while White Knight deals with Biowulf personally. Van Kliess retreats on an E.V.O., but before Rex can go after him, Breach has set several bombs throughout Providence. Instead of running all over Providence, Rex shuts down the entire HQ with his new powers. Even with his new powers, Rex doesn’t reach Van Kleiss, letting him get away. Providence takes away Biowulf, Skalamander, and the other E.V.O.s left behind, and Rex, back to his hold self, cures Captain Callan. Van Kleiss may be back more powerful than ever, but Rex, more powerful as well, assures that the war is not over yet.
