Ahsoka Tano who is voiced by Ashley Eckstein

NYCC Interview: Ashley Eckstein from Star Wars: The Clone Wars

ToonBarn's Marc Morrell interviewed Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano, from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, at New York Comic Con 2012

Here’s how awesomely cool Ashley Eckstein is: She is one of the busiest people on the planet, but somehow, she managed to give us an interview on Sunday Afternoon, after only meeting her for the first time on the previous Friday Night.

It was a real pleasure to meet Ashley and her husband David in New York City at the “The Mary Sue/Her Universe” Party on the Friday Night of New York Comic Con Weekend. Ashley was cosplaying as a Star Trek Zombie (Spock Hoodie), so she wasn’t immediately recognizable.

Her Universe Founder Ashley Eckstein, ToonBarn's Marc Morrell, and Ashley's Husband David Eckstein met at a party in New York City, hosted by The Mary Sue and Her Universe

In fact, it was David Eckstein (MVP of the 2006 World Series when he played for the St. Louis Cardinals) whom I saw first. We were talking baseball, of course, when he introduced us to his wife, Ashley. Ashley actually remembered me from my Twitter name (@starwarsfans). She has a great memory, because she also remembered when she pulled my name out of a stocking when she had an online contest on the “Her Universe” website, where she is the Founder. David remembered as well, because he was the one recording the video, while Ashley was on the phone with the guys from The Forcecast with Jason Swank and Jimmy Mac. I shared with Ashley and David the story of how I showed my wife the video of Ashley pulling my name, and then bestowed upon her the Empire Strikes Back Necklace for Christmas. It made for a cool Christmas moment, and it was so wonderful to finally thank Ashley in person.

I told Ashley it would be really great if I could interview her sometime for ToonBarn, and you would think she might say something like, “I am booked solid right now, but maybe a few months down the road.”

Not Ashley.

She worked it out with her publicist, and I was interviewing her on Sunday afternoon… that same New York Comic Con weekend!

There you have it…an equation that always rings true.

Ashley Eckstein = awesomely cool

The Alderaan Places Tee, inspired by Carrie Fisher, is one of the newer items available for women on the Her Universe website.

To get an idea of how busy Ashley Eckstein is, you need only look at the schedule she has followed since May of this year. Here’s a rundown:

Not only did she co-host Star Wars Weekends at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, with James Arnold Taylor, she also debuted a new Star Wars product line for Her Universe, including among other designs, a Jedi onesie for the tiniest followers of the Force featuring the adorable art of popular Star Wars illustrator Katie Cook.

She attended Star Wars Celebration VI in August, again in Orlando, Florida. During the Celebration, she worked double-duty once more for both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Her Universe.

She was at Star Wars Reads Day on October 6, in Decatur, GA, at an independent bookstore.

She attended New York Comic Con, which is where we finally caught up with her to get an interview:

Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs every Saturday Morning at 9:30 AM ET on Cartoon Network

So, lets see if you can keep up with Ashley Eckstein. She plays Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as Season 5 continues, every Saturday Morning at 9:30 AM on Cartoon Network.

Her Universe is always ready to take your orders at for a full line of Sci-Fi clothing and accessories for women.

And don’t forget to check out Ashley’s vocal performance as Mia the Bluebird in Sofia The First: Once Upon a Princess, which will premiere as an animated TV movie on November 18, 2012 on Disney Junior and continue as a series set to bow in spring 2013 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior channels worldwide.

Marc Morrell

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
