SDCC 2013: ToonBarn Interviews Khary Payton from Teen Titans Go!

Khary Payton, voice of Cyborg on Teen Titans Go!, interviewed by ToonBarn's Marc Morrell at San Diego Comic-Con

Khary Payton was on fire at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. He seems to administer a “scorched-Earth” policy wherever he goes to see his adoring fans. Teen Titans Go! is a major reason why Khary is living a fiery existence. The show continues to grow in the ratings and views on YouTube are through the roof. Khary is having a blast with the other cast members, since they have known each other for many years, and have shared many experiences outside the recording studio.

Cyborg, from Teen Titans Go!, played by Khary Payton

Khary Payton is best known for having portrayed Cyborg in all of the Teen Titans animated series’, including the current reigning champ, Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network. He has also played Aqualad in Young Justice. In Justice League, Payton provided the voice of the villain Ten (from the Royal Flush Gang). He was the voice of Drebin in the game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Payton is also known for his roles as Ripcord in G.I. Joe: Renegades, and Blade in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. These are only a small sample of all the animated, video game, TV, and movie roles Khary Payton has played. There are over a hundred more.

ToonBarn’s Marc Morrell was lucky enough to interview Khary Payton (and live to tell about it) before the Teen Titans Go! panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. Khary talks about Cyborg’s jealous side, if General Grievous moved into his building, and how Cyborg compares to HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey in a recent Teen Titans Go! episode. And when it comes to Oreo Cookies, the Dude is a Dunker. See it all here in this special Comic-Con ToonBarn Interview. ToonBarn would like to thank Khary Payton for a fantastic interview. A special thank you goes to Cartoon Network, Warner Bros Television, and of course, Teen Titans Go!

I am a Big Fan of all types of animation. Like a lot of things, the cream always rises to the top. My favorites have included Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels, anything Pixar, Phineas and Ferb, Voltron Legendary Defender, and the DC/WB Animated Films. I have a lot of Old School favorites as well, such as Star Blazers, Voltron, Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Scooby Doo.
