Turner Expands Toonami and Cartoonito in Asia

Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific will be launching its Toonami anime channel and their Cartoonito preschool network across Southeast Asia in early 2013. Turner will continue to carry their existing kids channels in the region, such as Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and POGO.

Toonami will be a 24 hour boy-targeted multi platform block, and will offer hit animated shows targeted towards young male adolescnets, such as Young Justice, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and various anime such as Dragon Ball Z. The Cartoonito network, on the other hand, is an HD channel that skews towards the younger demographic, as it provides preschool programs for both boys and girls aged three to seven. These include popular kids shows such as My Little Pony, LazyTown, and Noddy in Toyland.

There’s no specific dates announced for the launch of Cartoonito and Toonami, outside of early 2013. No further info on shows we’re provided except for the ones listed above, but based on the nature of the channel’s we can be sure about which shows aren’t going to appear on which networks (for example, there’s no way Metalocalypse will air on Cartoonito)
