Here is how the brackets look for the QuarterFinal round of the ToonOlympics on ToonBarn:

ToonBarn's ToonOlympics QuarterFinal Bracket

The ToonOlympics competition continues today with our 2nd match of the Quarterfinal round. The matchup is between USA and France. The cartoon from USA is called Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Ben 10: Ultimate Alien won its second round match by defeating Italy’s Huntik: Secrets & Seekers 18-1. Ben 10: Ultimate Alien is going up against a French cartoon series called Totally Spies!, which defeated Norway’s Alf Proysens Barnesanger 17-1 in the second round.

ToonOlympics QuarterFinal Match USA Vs. France

ToonOlympics Match 17 USA vs France

Wow! We’ve reached the Quarterfinals of the ToonOlympics! We are down to only 8 Cartoons across 5 Countries. USA has 3 Cartoons in the running, while France has 2 and United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Canada each have 1. It’s been an incredible ride so far! Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to some of our second round participants. Those cartoons that were eliminated from the ToonOlympics were:

Sidekick (CANADA)
El Chavo (MEXICO)
Huntik: Secrets & Seekers (ITALY)
Alf Proysens Barnesanger (NORWAY)
Escola Pra Cachorro (Doggy Day School) (BRAZIL)
Century Sonny (CHINA)
Zeke’s Pad (AUSTRALIA)
Space Battleship Yamato 2199 (JAPAN)

As for the remaining cartoons in the contest, if we were to line up the medal winners just based on the number of total votes they have received so far, this is how the end result would look:

Phineas and Ferb (USA) – Gold – 112 votes
Pocket Protectors (NEW ZEALAND) – Silver – 34 votes
Totally Spies! (FRANCE) – Bronze – 31 votes

But, as we all know, that is not how this contest is judged. It’s the head-to-head match winners that count. So, since you are only allowed to vote once per computer, you’ll have to tell as many people as you can about the ToonOlympics. Share it everywhere you can: on Facebook, Twitter, emails, texts, cartoon forums sites, etc. Spread the links! Get the Vote out!

Paramount Considering a Legend of Korra Animated Movie

Variety magazine has recently shed some light on Paramount Pictures’ efforts to ramp up their animation division (probably as a result of losing distrib rights to DreamWorks Animation’s properties). In addition to upcoming projects from Mary Parent and JJ Abrams, the studio is also planning to enrich their pipeline with IPs from their sister company Nickelodeon. While Paramount did not elaborate on the IPs they are considering, Variety put forward a list that includes Dora the Explorer, Monkey Quest and The Legend of Korra.
