Ben 10 Omniverse: Rise of Heroes

Ben 10 Omniverse: Rise of Heroes

UPDATE: the new series is here! Cartoon Network has launched Ben 10: Omniverse. Let us know what you thought of the premiere episode, “The More Things Change”

We’ve only just recently gotten word of Ben 10’s upcoming video game, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction, but the folks behind the series aren’t done yet! Today, we can announce that TurnOut Ventures and Typhoon Games Studio have joined together to launch Ben 10 Omniverse: Rise of Heroes, the first multiplayer online game about the world of Ben 10. Currently available in Australia and Hong Kong, the game is set in the time between the original Ben 10 and Ben 10: Alien Force – prior to the newest series, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Gamers can become a Bellwood Elementary School student with the ability to transform into one of three different alien forms, thanks to the Omnitrix. Sounds like a fun school to attend!

Ben 10: Omniverse Art Style – Good or Bad?

Okay, Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 Week has come and gone, and as promised, we got ourselves a sneak peek of the new addition to the Ben 10 franchise with Ben 10: Omniverse. It’s cool and all, with our resident galactic protector teaming up with his younger self (or is it the other way around? Time Travel discussion has always blown my mind!) for twice the action, but it seems that a lot of fans are disappointed with the new art style, which seems slightly deformed compared to the previous shows’.

Cartoon Network has recently launched a brand new mobile game based on the Ben 10: Omniverse franchise, titled “Wrath of Psychobos.” The game is available for both Android and iOS devices, and is priced at $2.99. The game is one of the first official mobile games that will let you play not only as Ben Tennyson but his partner Rook as well.

In Wrath of Psychobos, the duo of galactic protectors must use their alien powers and the pro-tool as a means of taking down the evil genius Dr. Psychobos, but before they get to the Dr. himself, they must first explore the galaxy and take down tons of bad guys .

The game gives players access to as many as 16 alien forms on Ben’s side (including favorites Cannonbolt, Armodrillo, Rath, Bloxx, Eye Guy, Shocksquatch, Arctiguana), while Rook has access to 10 proto-tool weapons (such as the Laser Bow, Whiplash, Proto Shield, Netcaster, Energy Sword). In the game, you control both heroes and use their complementary abilities in order to conquer any and all challenges.

Cartoon Network Reveals Ben 10: Omniverse Slate for November

Cartoon Network Reveals Ben 10: Omniverse Slate for November

Last Saturday, November 16, Ben Tennyson found out that Khyber the Huntsman and all the other aliens he’s had to face so far are only the tip of the proverbial iceberg, as he must now contend with one foe who knows him better than any other enemy – his evil twin, Albedo. The episode, titled “Duel of the Duplicates,” required the combined forces of Ben, Rook and Grandpa Max to stop Albedo – not to mention his aliens managed to take on their Ultimate forms for the first time in the Omniverse series.

After the Duel of the Duplicates episode, Ben had to face Albedo again in “The Ultimate Heist,” as the doppelganger seeks a device that will allow him to revert back to his Galvan form.

Cartoon Network Releases Ben 10 Slammers Card Game for iOS

Ben-10-Slammers

It’s a good day to be a Ben 10 fan, especially if you’re a Ben 10 fan who owns an iOS device, as Cartoon Network has launched a new card game based on the eponymous galactic protector. Dubbed Ben 10 Slammers, the game’s storyline has Sumo Slammers recognizing Ben 10’s mass market appeal to the point of creating a card-battling game based on his exploits. Having caught wind of this, Ben Tennyson decides to prove that he’s the best at his own game, going against friend and foe alike, human and non-human, in a quest to become the one true Galactic Champion.

As expected of any card battling game, Ben 10 Slammers will require a little bit of strategy and skill in deck-building, as you face off against 24 different opponents in an exciting single player mode. Or if you’re feeling confident, you can enter the multiplayer mode and challenge other people to see who’s really the best. The game features stunning graphics that take full advantage of what Apple’s iOS devices has to offer, framed by deep, rewarding gameplay that lets you level up your characters and unlock favorite alien forms such as Bloxx, Feedback, Heatblast, Kickin’ Hawk, Ball Weevil, Four Arms and more!

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Xenodrome Review

mza_2800851623389469572.320

We covered Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Xenodrome when it first came out several months ago, but since I had no access to a tablet (the game is out for iOS and Android-based devices) at that time, we were unable to post a proper review, and instead provided basic info about the game based on promotional materials and video demonstrations.

However, I now have access to an el cheapo generic Android tablet, and since I discovered that it’s good enough to run Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Xenodrome, I figured I might as well post a review.

Good news first: it’s a beautiful game that takes advantage of cel-shading techniques to provide 3D visuals that look like they were taken straight out of the cartoon. And it’s not resource-intensive, as evidenced by the fact that I can run it on my cheap tablet (which only had a 1 Ghz dual core processor and a Mali GPU.)
