Seth MacFarlane’s adult CG/live action comedy Ted managed to pull in big numbers at the US box office this past weekend, ending up as the number one release of the weekend due to its estimated $52.5 million opening in a span of three days. The Mark Wahlberg starrer managed to unseat Disney/Pixar’s Brave out of the top spot of the box office chart.

Ice Age: Continental Drift to Premiere at Giffoni

Fox’s 4th installment of the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, is scheduled to premiere at the Italian Giffoni Film Festival next month. With the Giffoni’s reputation as the largest film festival for showcasing productions aimed towards children, Scrat and his buddies may find their European debut successful as they kick off Ice Age: Continental Drift on July 22.

New Rides Based on Ice Age and Transformers

Two new rides based on famous CG movie franchises will be made available for theme parks in the following weeks. The first of the rides is Transformers: The Ride3D, which will make its debut at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday, May 25, 2012 with early park entrance for Memorial Day weekend beginning Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28. Gates will open at 7:30a for early access to Transformers: The Ride3D and the Studio Tour.

At 9pm on Friday, December 16th, Fox will rebroadcast the new holiday special Ice Age A Mammoth Christmas. The special originally ran at that other holiday, Thanksgiving. But now that turkey day has come and gone, we can focus on the true winter holiday, Christmas. The half hour special starts with the full Ice Age gang, from Manny to Diego, with Sid, of course, causing trouble. This time, however, Sid goes a little too far, and fears he’s been placed on Santa’s naughty list. Faced with the prospect of not receiving any Christmas joy, the sloth makes his way to the North Pole to speak with Santa Claus, himself.
