Disney XD Announces Scary Halloween Slate

The house of mouse’s action-oriented channel Disney XD is getting ready for an action-packed Halloween season slate, via their two hit shows Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil and Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja.

The spooktacular fun stars on Sunday, October 13 at 11 AM with a special Halloween episode of Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, which finds Kick taking the scary story campfire tradition one step too far, which leads to the boys getting scared out of their wits as they start to suspect Kick’s story to have come true.

Henry Winkler to Appear in Kick Buttowski Episode

The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler, is scheduled to do a guest star role in an episode of Disney XD’s hit cartoon series Kick Buttowski, Suburban Daredevil on Saturday, May 19 at 11am. Winkler will be voicing the school principal in the episode entitled “Bee Awesome”, which will also feature guest voiceovers from Nestor Carbonell, Emily Osment, and Carlos Alazraqui.

Disney adds online streaming for Phineas and Ferb and Kick Buttowski

Mashable reports that Disney has added fresh content to their streaming media deals with Netflix and Amazon, including some of our favorite cartoon! Episodes of Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil will begin streaming on Netflix through the new deal. More episodes of Phineas and Ferb will also be made available through the service. Also, Phineas and Ferb will make their Amazon debut soon, along with many Marvel titles, including Spider-Man, X-Men Evolution, Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers and Iron Man: Extremis. With all the new toonage on Amazon, it’s only a matter of time until Kick’s arrival. Let’s hope it’s soon!

He’s back! Well, he’s back “soon,” anyway, but it’s actually quite soon! In just three weeks time, Kick Buttowski will be back on the scene, as the Suburban Daredevil returns to Disney XD with an all new season, September 5th. The new episodes “kick” off at 5:30pm, but don’t wait until then to TOON in! In honor of the second season premiere, Disney will feature an all-day Kick Buttowski marathon, with back-to-back (to-back) episodes from the first season, starting at 11am. After the Monday premiere, new episodes will hit every Sunday at 8:30pm, starting September 11th on Disney XD.

Between last June and this May, we’ve had ourselves a nice little year of animation happiness. Just think of all the new shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Kick Buttowski, and returning legends like SpongeBob and Phineas and Ferb. Typically, we reward these great moments by … well, by watching them! Again and again in many cases. But the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has a better idea: nominating many of these greats for an Emmy, where winners will be selected during the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. Juggernauts Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon lead the pack with 6 nominations a piece to their name. Disney is no slouch either, pulling in 2 nods toward the Disney Channel and one for Disney XD. The awards ceremony will air Sunday, September 18th at 8pm on Fox, but you can get a sneak peek at some of the toon-related categories right here

Disney XD fishes Finding Nemo

The spread of Disney’s latest empire, Disney XD, is moving far and wide, reaching Canada tomorrow morning, June 1st. As part of the Astral Media family, the new network will be host to a whole slew of Disney projects, animated and otherwise, including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Kick Buttowski, Phineas and Ferb, Sky High, and Holes. Of special interest to our site and other Pixar fans will be the debut of Finding Nemo on June 25th. It’s been nearly 10 years since the film first cracked theaters in 2003 – by now, Nemo could be raising a family of his own! So, if you feel like visiting your pals Marlin, Dory, Crush, and others – head on over to Disney XD for your fix!
