Fans of the 2000s Teen Titans cartoon got a surprise for sticking around to the end credits of Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. A little teaser suggested the crew would be back and now a new video included in the home video release of Go! to the Movies gives it a title: Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans.
Little is known about what this is exactly, though it’s probably not a sixth season of the 2003-2006 show. A TV special? A direct-to-video movie? We’ll have to wait and see. i09 managed to get Warner Bros. to confirm that Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans will debut in 2019.
Teen Titans ran for 65 episodes across five seasons aired between 2003 and 2006. The show inspired a TV movie, Trouble in Tokyo, that served as its finale. The same cast of characters and actors returned for Teen Titans Go!, an ongoing comedic spinoff series that launched in 2013 and has amassed over 200 episodes, as well as last summer’s critically well-received theatrical film. A crossover between the two shows would be pretty interesting to see, especially given the identical voice cast.
If you’re craving Teen Titans goodness, the first season of the original series launched earlier this year on Blu-Ray. As stated earlier, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies hits home video next week. Check out our interview with the cast and crew at the film’s San Diego Comic-Con premiere here.
