Disney-Pixar has recently revealed the key voice cast and characters for the upcoming threequel Cars 3, which has been slated for a June 16, 2017 release. Director Brian Fee has revealed that the film will feature both new and returning characters.
The reveal of the characters also included some key casting details. The old guard will return: Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Cristela Alonzo as Cruz Ramirez, Armie Hammer, as Jackson Storm, but they will be joined by new cast members: Kerry Washington as Natalie Certain, a Nathan Fillion as the business car Sterling, Lea DeLaria as the local legend and Thunder Hollow Speedway demolition derby veteran Miss Fritter, and Lewis Hamilton as the fully-loaded, built-in voice command assistant to high-tech trainer Cruz Ramirez, Hamilton.
Other returning cast and characters:
Loyal transporter Mack (voice of John Ratzenberger), big-hearted Italian Fiat 500 Luigi (voice of Tony Shalhoub) and charming little Italian forklift Guido (voice of Guido Quaroni) continue to support Lightning McQueen.
World-renowned sports announcer Bob Cutlass (voice of Bob Costas) is still calling the races, and Chick Hicks (voice of Bob Peterson) is back, now a commentator on the Racing Sports Network.
Lovable duo Dusty (voice of Ray Magliozzi) and Rusty (voice of Tom Magliozzi) return as Rust-eze’s chief proprietors—though they have big things in store for Lightning McQueen.
