Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Gets a Release Date

Disney has recently announced a new release date for their upcoming big screen adaptation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy comic book. As opposed to the originally announced May 16, 2014 date, the release of Guardians of the Galaxy has been pushed back to August 1, 2014. Disney has also revealed that the mad titan Thanos, which was featured in the end credits of The Avengers, will be part of the Guardans’ plotline. The main characters of the movie will be Adam Warlock, Drax the Destroyer, Gamoa, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Phyla-Vell/Quasar.

The announcement of Guardians of the Galaxy proves that Marvel’s plate is currently full, especially since they have also announced plans to adapt Marvel’s Big Hero 6, which is added to the fact that they already have the upcoming Iron Man 3 movie (May 3, 2013), Thor 2 (November 8, 2013), and Captain America (April 4, 2014) ready for the next few couple of years.
