Mickey and the Roadster Racers 3rd Season is a GO
Disney Junior recently ordered a whole new batch of episodes of the CG animated series Mickey and the Roadster Racers. The move is not surprising, given that the Roadster Racers is currently Disney Channel’s top show among kids aged 2 to 5, and the second season will be hitting the starting line on Friday, April 13 at 9:30 with no doubt similar success. The launch will coincide with the debut of new episodes on DisneyNOW and Disney Junior VOD.
For the uninitiated, Mickey and the Roadster Racers follows the titular mouse and the gang as they ride their unique transforming vehicles on humorous high-octane races around the globe. Minnie and Daisy also run their own successful business, called Happy Helpers, when they’re not on the racetrack. The series aims to impart ocial and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork, optimism and good sportsmanship.
The show’s second season boasts of numerous guest stars that include Academy Award-winning director and writer Guillermo del Toro as Mr. Talbot, business partner to Goofy’s world-adventuring Uncle Goof; rock legend Alice Cooper as treasure hunter Alistair Coop De Ville; racing icon Mario Andretti as Mickey’s racing teammate Mario Mousedretti; actor and comedian Stephen Fry as English gentleman Dr. Crutchley; recording artist Sabrina Carpenter as pop star Nina; Camilla Belle (Diablo) as Daisy’s Brazilian cousin, Almanda; Broadway’s Andrea Martin as Mrs. Bigby, a stylish pink poodle; and Indycar drivers Bia Figueiredo, Takuma Sato and Pippa Mann as international race car drivers.
