Disney has finally given the big screen revamp of Phineas and Ferb an expected release date. The film, which is said to be an animated/live-action feature, is set for a July 26, 2013 release date. Developed by Tron: Legacy producer Sean Bailey, the Phineas and Ferb movie will consist of an animated beginning and ending, with the rest of the movie being portrayed entirely by real actors. The script is penned by the show’s original creators Jeff “Swampy” Marsh and Dan Povenmire.
In line with the Phineas and Ferb feature film getting an announcement, Disney Worldwide has also let it slip that Jerry Bruckheimer‘s on-again, off-again adaptation of The Lone Ranger has once again entered the “on” stage. The live action adaptation, which stars Hollywood heavyweights Johnny Depp, Dwight Yoakam, and Helena Bonham Carter, is now set for a May 31, 2013 release.
Not to be outdone, Disney’s Marvel division has scheduled Thor 2 (working title) for a Nov. 14, 2013 release date. Chris Hemsworth and his abs (which gets top billing) will be back as the Hammer-wielding Norse God of thunder. The sequel will be directed by Patty Jenkins, whose previous directorial credits include the Monster episode of AMC’s The Killing.
