Star Wars Rebels Art and Logo Revealed by Disney

Disney has revealed new art and logo designs for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels at the recent Star Wars Celebration Europe event, which was held in Germany last Saturday. The Star Wars Rebels TV series is slated for a 2014 debut on both the Disney Channel and Disney XD, and will take place in the 20-year time frame gap between Star Wars: Episode III and Episode IV.

LucasFilm’s official description of the period is “a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.”

The show will have Dave Filoni (of Star Wars: The Clone Wars) on board as executive producer, along with Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman. It was also Filoni who revealed the assets at the event, describing the ship featured on the series as “the Ghost,” which is a cross between a B-17 and the iconic Millennium Falcon.
