Tangled: The Series’ 2nd Season Greenlit Ahead of Series Debut
It’s a testament to how good the upcoming Tangled TV series is that Disney Channel has already ordered a second season, even though they have yet to air the first season. It is an indication that the broadcaster is confident that the series will find its mark with the audience when it premieres on Friday, March 10, immediately after the airing of the music-filled Disney Channel Original Movie Tangled Before Ever After at 8:00PM EST. The series itself will start airing regularly starting on March 24 at 7L30 to 8:00PM EDT on the Disney Channel.
Tangled: The Series will use a vibrant 2D animation style and will feature the return of Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore, who will be reprising their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene/Flynn Rider, respectively. The series will follow Rapunzel as she goes on her adventures and tries to reform bonds with her biological parents, her kingdom of Corona, and its subjects.
“Tangled is my all-time favorite Disney animated film!” said Marsh. “And with the blessing of the filmmakers, executive producer Chris Sonnenburg has crafted a terrific new series that embraces the rich characters, the brilliant storytelling and the memorable music of the original. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi have effortlessly reprised their roles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, and the legendary songwriters Alan Menken and Glenn Slater have graced the series with a host of memorable songs. This promises to be an absolute treat for kids and families around the world.”
