Wreck-It Ralph Returns for a Sequel in 2018
Disney Animation has announced the return of the Oscar-nominated film Wreck-It Ralph on March 9, 2018. The all-new adventure features Sarah Silverman (Vanellope) and John C. Reilly (Ralph) who will reprise their roles for director Rich Moore and producer Clark Spencer (Zootopia). Zootopia and Wreck-It Ralph writer Phil Johnston joins Rich Moore as writer and director for the sequel.
When Wreck-It Ralph opened on November 2, 2012, it gained the highest opening weekend in the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios. It was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar for best animated feature and has won outstanding producer of an animated theatrical motion picture for the PGA Award and five Annie Awards including best director, best animated feature, best screenplay and best cast. Wreck-It Ralph was also named best animated feature by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, won the Kids’ Choice Award for favorite animated movie and received outstanding achievement in casting for an animated feature by the Casting Society of America.
In the celebration of the announcement of the sequel, Ralph will also hit the mobile game Disney Crossy Road, which features 12 different Pixar and Disney worlds.
