Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products have recently announced plans to launch new infant programs based on popular properties SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer. The new lines, called Dora Baby and Bubbly Baby Bob!, are expected to launch internationally this winter and spring. Both are expected to complement instead of replace the existing range of Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Squarepants product lines. The announcement was made by Michael Connolly, Senior Vice President, NVCP, at Brand Licensing Europe 2012 in London.
The Bubbly Baby Bob! collection is aimed at 0-36 months and will focus on apparel and accessories based on the cheerful denizens of Bikini Bottom. The collection will feature a soft colour palette that are suitable for boys, girls, and can be unisex. The Dora Baby collection, on the other hand, is aimed towards 0-24 months and will consist of toys, apparel, and layette that showcase Dora’s warm and earthly colour palette and design aesthetic.
