At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Bandai Namco revealed their latest Dragon Ball mobile game with a new Saiyan twist. Dragon Ball Legends is an ambitious game that combines high fidelity 3D visuals with global 3D card battles. Developed in partnership with franchise favourite studio Dimps, the new game will utilize Google’s new Cloud Platform, allowing lightning fast real-time online multiplayer matchmaking. The infrastructure also allows Bandai Namco to skip the lengthy maintenance period common with constantly updated mobile titles.
Here’s a trailer:
Available on Android and iOS devices, Legends will feature a new storyline starring Goku and all your favourite characters, while you’ll also get to play as an all-new mysterious character designed by Akira Toriyama. Not much is known about him, except that he’s a Saiyan from a time other than Goku’s. To enhance the experience, the game will also feature voice acting – something long expected of console titles, but still uncommon in the storage strapped mobile space.
Eager fans can pre-register for the game here. Pre-registering will entitle you to bonuses for the full game, especially if Bandia Namco reaches certain milestones. At 530,000 registrations, players will get first form Frieza and 1000 crystals. A closed beta test will be conducted on Android platforms from April 9th. Registrations for the test will be open until March 27th. Those chosen will be notified on March 30th.
Bandai Namco has given a summer 2018 release window for Dragon Ball Legends.
