Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge to Air on Cartoon Network on May 24

This coming May 24th, Bleach and Space Dandy will be taking a temporary break from Cartoon Network’s Toonami programming block in order to make way for the grand return of Dragon Ball Z to the network, via a screening of the fifth anime film – Cooler’s Revenge.

For the uninitiated, Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge is set some time after the defeat of Freeza and focuses on the intergalactic tyrant’s brother, who is shown to be as evil, yet significantly more powerful than his brother. Like most of Dragon Ball Z’s anime films, the timeline in Cooler’s Revenge is hard to place, to the point where most fans don’t even consider it canon – the movie shows Goku on Earth after defeating Freeza, and there’s no sign of Vegeta at all. Either way, Cooler’s Revenge still has everything that you want to see in a Dragon Ball Z film: lots and lots of fight scenes, and Goku going Super Saiyan on a poor evil villain’s arse.

Toonami’s Schedule for May 24th:

11:30pm – Attack on Titan
12:00am – DBZ Cooler’s Revenge
1:00am – Naruto Shippuden
1:30am – One Piece
2:00am – Blue Exorcist
2:30am – Black Lagoon
3:00am – Beware the Batman
