These past few weeks, all we’ve been getting are bits and pieces of info from the upcoming Dragon Ball Z anime movie, Battle of the Gods, as well as several teaser trailers. If you want something with a little bit more substance, then this 85-second full trailer should be enough to tide you over until the March 2013 release of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods.
Dragonball’s creator, Akira Toriyama, is said to have been heavily involved in the production of the movie, and the trailer shows it. Featuring much better quality of animation than Dragonball GT, which lacked substantial input from Toriyama.
Saiyan Island has already translated the synopsis, stating that
…the movie will take place a few years after the Majin Buu arc, with Bils, the God of Destruction who keeps the balance of the universe, being awakened from a long slumber after hearing rumors about the defeat of Frieza in the hands of a Saiyan. Bils tracks down the warrior responsible – Goku and challenges him to a fight. King Kai naturally advises Goku to avoid confrontation, but knowing Goku, he is excited at the prospect of another strong warrior to fight. Sadly, Goku is no match for Bils’ overwhelming power and is soundly defeated. Bils then leaves, asking if “there is anybody on Earth more worthy to destroy.”
