New Dragon Ball Series in the Works
With Fukkatsu no F proving to be an impressive commercial success, plus a recent spate of Dragon Ball videogames, it’s not surprising that Toei has suddenly expressed an interest to revive the anime itself. After all, it shows that for all the ridicule that the franchise gets, people are still interested and there’s still money to be made on Akira Toriyama’s landmark shonen franchise. Hence, Toei has recently announced production on a new animated series tentatively titled Dragon Ball Super.
Akira Toriyama is said to be on board, serving as creator of the plot for the new series, and will oversee the project, while Fuji Television will be handling production. According to the announcement, the series will continue the story after the Buu Saga, with Goku and the Z warriors trying to maintain Earth’s fragile peace while taking on all comers.
