A new promotional video has been released for Dragon Ball Super, and this time around it’s highlighting the Saiyan race, by showing various representatives from Universe 6 and 7: we have Cabba, Kale, Caulifla, and of course the triumvirate of Vegeta, Goku, and Gohan in brief clips that showcase their various forms and power ups. You can check out the PV below:
Of particular note here is Kale, who was initially anticipated by many fans as she reminds people of the very popular, but non-canon character Broly. However, that anticipation was ultimately marred by the odd portrayal (and wonky power scaling) present in the most recent episode of Super—Kale in her legendary super saiyan form was able to stand up to Super Saiyan Blue Goku.
The speed in which the universe 6 saiyans managed to ascend to a new form is not the problem here. Remember that Gotrn and Trunks achieved Super Saiyan easily as well. The problem is that Gotrn and Trunks’ Super Saiyan forms weren’t huge jumps in power, compared to the ones achieved by Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan who all had to go through intense training. Kale, on the other hand, had her first transformation and immediately went toe to toe with a Super Saiyan form that was meant to rival gods in power (IMHO, the story would have flowed better if Kale fought SSJ3 Goku instead of SSB.)
What makes this even worse is that Kale, which was built up to be this unstoppable monster, was easily dispatched by Jiren, who is then set up to go toe to toe with Goku.
