A new promo video has been released for the upcoming 2.5D anime fighter Dragon Ball FighterZ. This is a fairly hefty PV clocking in at 3.55. But the catch is that it’s in Japanese. Still, it is worth a watch as it shows new footage from the game, including a glimpse of the story cutscenes and some gameplay footages. You can watch the PV below:
Dragon Ball FighterZ is anticipated by both Dragon Ball fans and fighting game fans (two groups that frequently overlap) for a number of reasons. For starters, it’s the first Dragon Ball game that is made with balanced, tournament-ready gameplay in mind, courtesy of iconic fighting game experts Arc System Works (of Guilty Gear and Blazblue fame). Next is that it uses a similar engine to Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear XrD series, which is known for using the Unreal Engine (3, but DBZF uses 4) to create high quality 2D visuals with dynamic camera angles, which is very effective in making the game look like actual scenes from an anime.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z will be released for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 26, 2018.
