Bandai Namco is once again egging fans on and trying to get every one to preorder Dragon Ball FighterZ, and they are doing it by teasing all of us with the Super Saiyan Blue forms of Goku and Vegeta, both of which will be part of the preorder bonuses. The new trailer shows the two saiyans duking it out with other characters in their SSB and SSB Kaioken (in Goku’s case) forms.
For the uninitiated, the Super Saiyan Blue form is the transformation that Goku has achieved after Super Saiyan God form. It’s not so much an upgrade as it is a sidegrade—it’s slightly more powerful than Super Saiyan God form, but drains his stamina fast. The SSB Kaioken form, on the other hand, is just his kaioken used on top of SSB. It’s a form with vastly increased strength and speed, with the caveat that the stamina drains even faster. We currently don’t know how these mechanics will translate to the Dragon Ball FighterZ game, if at all. You can watch the trailer below:
Note that Bandai Namco states that these forms are “early unlocks” for people who preorder, similar to what happened with Future Trunks in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. People who preorder will get access to them first, but those who didn’t will still get access to them when they are released (what is not clear, is whether the SSBs are unlockable in the base game later or DLC content.)
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in early 2018.
