First Trailer for 2013 Dragonball Z Anime Movie

After a screening at Saikyo V-Jump Festa, a 15 second preview of the upcoming Dragonball Z anime Movie was shown on Fuji TV as part of their promotional campaign for the movie. Dubbed “The Strongest Make Their Move”, the campaign supports what will be the 18th Dragon Ball anime movie, which will hit Japan on March 30, 2013.

The movie is said to take place between chapters 517 and 518 of the manga, which is exactly the 10 year timeskip after Goku defeats Buu and before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Details are still sparse but it seems we’re going to see both Adult and kid Goku (the GT one that was made younger through a dragon ball wish).

The promo images also show a couple of odd but welcome choices – Vegeta wearing a Saiyan armor on top of his blue jumpsuit (around that time, Vegeta has since stopped wearing anything on top of his blue jumpsuit, which looks awkward.) and Krillin sporting the orange gi instead of the red shirt/cream short civilian clothes. He still has long hair, though. He looks much better when bald.

Those clips with the young Goku are from the 10th anniversary movie. I don’t think young Goku is going to be in this new movie.

Vegeta also wore that Saiyan armor in the 2008 Jump special, “Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!”, which was also set in the ten year gap between chapters 517 and 518 of the manga. This is the first time Goku’s worn that sash with a gi sporting the Kame logo, though.
