Patrick Stewart to Guest in Futurama Season Finale

Time flies when you’re having fun. It seemed like it was just yesterday when we were posting about Futurama’s return to Comedy Central, but now we’re at the season ender. Fortunately, Futurama has seen fit to give us a very special way of ending the current season, by providing two back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, August 28 at 10 PM (9pm central), with the first episode featuring the voice of Captain Picard/Professor X himself, Patrick Stewart.

The first episode, entitled “31st Century Fox”, follows Bender as he becomes a fox-hunting enthusiast, joining the Huntmaster (Stewart) on a high class outing. However, Bender’s fondness for the activity turns into outrage when he finds out that they are not hunting a flesh and blood fox, but a poor, innocent robot fox. Bender then decides to sabotage the next hunt as a way of taking a stand for robot rights, but things take a turn for the worse when he himself becomes the hunted.

Next is a 3-part extravaganza entitled “Naturama,” which has the entire Futurama crew members reborn as wild animals struggling for survival in their native habitats. For instance, Fry turns into a salmon and has to face vicious predators and towering waterfalls, along with “Salmon” Zapp Brannigan as they compete for the chance to mate with the one eyed “Salmon” Leela.
