Clash of the Titans and How to Train Your Dragon just miss Date Night

In one of the closest weekend box office races of the past few months, there was a near three-way tie for the top spot, as Date Night, Clash of the Titans, and How to Train Your Dragon finished within $1.7 million of each other. Date Night took the top spot honors, which also relates to toon fans, as it stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell, each stars of upcoming animated films — Carell stars in Universal’s Despicable Me, and Tina Fey, who also starred in Ponyo, will appear in DreamWorks’ Megamind. The CG friendly Clash of the Titans took the biggest drop, losing 50% of its audience from last week, where as DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon held strong in it’s third week.
