Jumpstart Launches School of Dragons
Educational kids’ games dev Jumpstart has recently launched a new multiplayer online game based on DreamWorks Animation’s hit How To Train Your Dragon property, titled School of Dragons. The game will be the first MMORPG to incorporate basic science education features in its gameplay.
The School of Dragons MMORPG will give young gamers the chance to interact, play, and learn with characters that they have come to know and love from the film, such as Hiccup and Toothless. The game has players training their own dragons in order to become Viking adventurers, via key concepts in the scientific method through activities based on earth, life, and physical sciences.
“We are pleased to see the How To Train Your Dragon adventure extended in this beautifully crafted game experience that will engage and educate Dragon fans,” says Jim Mainard, Head of Digital Strategy for DreamWorks Animation. “This dragon world is a perfect environment for teaching real world scientific lessons, while delivering all the fun and excitement that How To Train Your Dragon fans expect.”
The game will be presented at a dedicated booth (#5566) at Comic-Con and can be played online (www.schoolofdragons.com) through a limited free account or a paid full subscription. There are also exclusive in-game content that can be unlocked by fans who purchase Fox Home Entertainment’s Dragons: Riders of Berk two-part DVD (which will be made available on July 23).
