Twentieth Century Fox to Launch an Ice Age MMO
In support of the upcoming Ice Age: Continental Drift movie, which will premiere on July 2012, Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products have teamed up with online game publisher/content provider Bigpoint to develop a massively multiplayer online game based on the Ice Age film franchise.
The MMO will be called Ice Age Online, and will be free to play. The game will run straight from the browser and will have players assuming the role of a sloth, which recently discovered the perfect place for animals from the herd to live. The players must then rescue the lost animals and build a camp for them to live in, while collecting valuable acorns and construction materials from locations featured in the movies. The game is said to feature a mixture of strategy and adventure gameplay elements.
To be one of the first few players of the game, fans can preregister for an account at www.iceageonline.com
