Jimmy Neutron and Planet Sheen have led CG animation on Nickelodeon for years, always saving the world, and now, even outer space

Nickelodeon pits Planet Sheen vs. Jimmy Neutron

Everyone who watches Jimmy Neutron and Planet Sheen are watching because of the nutty adventures the main characters get themselves into. But I’m here to talk about which show is more brilliant.  We have Jimmy Neutron the boy genius and Sheen the boy genius’ peanut-brained friend. Everyone has to admit that Jimmy Neutron’s show would be less fun to watch if Carl and Sheen weren’t a big part of it. Because of that it isn’t surprising that they gave Sheen his own show. But I know for a fact that a lot of people choose Jimmy Neutron over Planet Sheen. That’s because in Jimmy Neutron they formed a complete package of humor and in Planet Sheen a lot of people who watched it are missing the other characters that were a part of Jimmy Neutron’s show. But are they…?

Not too long ago, Nickelodeon was nice enough to bring us two wonderful gifts: T.U.F.F. Puppy and Planet Sheen; the latter a spinoff of the Jimmy Neutron toon. Starting January 5th of the new year (can you believe it will soon be 2011?!) TUFF Puppy and Planet Sheen will join the lineup, with an early sneak peek next week, December 15th.

Jimmy Neutron spin off Planet Sheen debuts tomorrow on Nickelodeon

Jimmy Neutron spin off Planet Sheen debuts tomorrow on Nickelodeon

In 2002, Nickelodeon debuted the first CG animated Nicktoon series called The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, also known as simply Jimmy Neutron. For 50 episodes over 3 seasons (and a handful of specials) we lived through Jimmy and his adventures. Since that show went away, Nick has been planning a special spin-off series, which is now just hours from officially launching on the network. So let us here by the first to welcome tomorrow’s premiere of Planet Sheen, the story of Sheen Estevez, struggling to survive on a distant planet after …borrowing one of Jimmy’s top secret rocket ships. There, whether he’s battling the villainous Dorkus, or hanging with his alien pals Doppy, Emperor, and Nesmith, the CG adventures continue for Jimmy’s pal Sheen. The only question at this point is, will you be watching?

Planet Sheen launches October 2nd on Nickelodeon

Planet Sheen launches October 2nd on Nickelodeon

In about a week, on October 2nd, Nickelodeon will introduce a spin off to their classic Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius series — one of the most popular of all time. The new toon stars Sheen Estevez, Jimmy’s best pal, who accidentally blasts himself into space on a distant planet. With all this in mind, the series is appropriately titled Planet Sheen. On the planet Zeenu, and while waiting for his space craft to be repaired, Sheen makes a life with the Zeenuians. Meanwhile, an evil space villain named Dorkus is fixated on desotrying Sheen, whose crash to the planet destroyed his house. But with the help of his new friends like Doppy (who looks exactly like Carl Weezer), Emperor (the ruler of Zeenu) and Nesmith (a talking chimp), Sheen always manages to get by. Watch this clip of the toon in action, then check out the debut next Saturday!

Jimmy Neutron’s Sheen returns in Nickelodeon’s Planet Sheen

Jimmy Neutron's Sheen returns in Nickelodeon's Planet Sheen

On Saturday, October 2nd, Nickelodeon is returning to some of its earliest Boy Genius roots with Planet Sheen. As you may remember, Sheen Estevez was a cast member on Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Now, Nick is giving him his own spin off series, via Omation Animation Studios and O Entertainment — even going so far as bringing Jeff Garcia back to voice the character. When Sheen accidentally uses Jimmy’s top secret rocketship to blast himself into outer space, he suddenly finds himself 4 million (and one!) light years away on planet Zeenu. There, Sheen must work with the purple Zeenuians, like Doppy, Emperor, and Nesmith, while confronting (and often battling) the villainous Dorkus. Take a look at the teaser trailer, and let us know what you think

Jimmy Neutron’s Sheen Estevez hits Nickelodeon this November with Planet Sheen

Jimmy Neutron's Sheen Estevez hits Nickelodeon this November with Planet Sheen

With The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius now behind us, Nickelodeon has been ramping up a new spin-off series. Thus, we welcome Planet Sheen, the newest CG animated toon based on the characters created by Steve Oedekerk, Keith Alcorn, and John Davis. We’ve been anxiously waiting for the O Entertainment series since first hearing about it last year, but details are now finally starting to come in. The toon focuses on Sheen Estevez and his adventures after “borrowing” a rocket from Jimmy Neutron and landing on the planet Zeenu. Sheen must learn to deal with Zeenu’s bizarre customs, a villain named Dorkus, a two-headed princess with a crush on him, and a talking chimp named klhuklyjk. Sounds… challenging. Planet Sheen will premiere on November 13th of this year, featuring the return of Jeff Garcia as the voice of Sheen Estevez.
